Contact Lenses in San Diego

The advantages of contact lenses are impressive. And the ones that are available today from us at Optometry Cabana are more comfortable to wear and provide better vision than at any point in time. Our contact lenses in San Diego comprise a full array of choices to suit any visual need, comfort level, and lifestyle. If you are farsighted, nearsighted, and even if you have astigmatism, you can now benefit from wearing contacts.

The two basic categories of contacts are soft and hard (which are also called rigid or gas-permeable). Among soft lenses, there are four types: daily wear, extended wear, disposable, and color changing. As a general rule of thumb for our contact lenses in San Diego, hard contact lenses are a bit more challenging to get used to, but they provide sharper and clearer vision than soft lenses do. Hard contacts are also typically the best choice if you have severe nearsightedness or astigmatism. Soft lenses are usually more comfortable. Which type of soft lens is best for you? Daily wear are put in each morning and can be worn for up to 18 hours before being removed so that you can clean them in preparation for the next day. Extended wear can be worn overnight in addition to during the day. Disposables are worn just a single time before being discarded. And color-changing give you the chance to try a totally new eye color, even if you don't need them for vision correction. You can think of them as a a fashion accessory. If you need bifocal or multifocal lenses, no problem. We have those too.

Compared to eyeglasses, contact lenses provide a more natural type of vision, they don't inhibit your side-to-side (peripheral) eyesight, and they don't have any negative effect on your facial appearance. If you are considering wearing contacts for the first time, call us to schedule an eye exam with our optometrist. Even if you already wear them and are just interested in re-supplying, you should get an eye exam if it's been more than a year since your last one. When you wear our contact lenses in San Diego, we want you to be achieving the best eyesight that you're capable of having.
